Being a solid construction attorney is about more than litigation. It is about helping clients identify key issues early – often as early as the drafting of a contract – to avoid a dispute if at all possible. Jeremy Vermilyea works closely with his clients to understand their businesses, their approaches to contracting, project selection and project management, and their goals in each unique situation. That approach has led to positive results that don’t always show in the “win” column, since in most instances a win is when you don’t have to go to battle. Clients want and expect an advisor who will help them solve problem, regardless of the context. Jeremy Vermilyea excels at finding creative solutions that fit each client’s particular needs and expectations.

Jeremy has represented owners, contractors and design professionals for over 20 years. His experience is broad, ranging from residential disputes to assisting public and private owners as they structure their project delivery and contract documents, to representing some of the largest contractors in the world in very large and complex construction and design disputes. His work has included disputes in the remote reaches of Arctic Alaska, throughout the Pacific Northwest, and into Southern California. In other words, Jeremy has “been there, done that.”

Prior to restarting Vermilyea Law PC, Jeremy was the chair of the construction group for one of the largest law firms in the Northwest and led that firm’s teams on many large and complicated projects. He is considered one of the top construction attorneys in the Northwest by his peers, having been selected as a Best Lawyer™ every year since 2012, and twice selected a Super Lawyer™, including 2018.
